Katie & Brendan: Bermuda Weddings

They both adore Bermuda - both of Katie's grandparents came to the island for their honeymoons and they have come together a couple times a year since they met. So when it came time to plan their destination wedding, Bermuda was the perfect choice. It was one of those crazy Bermuda days where there is torrential rain and then a cloudless sky. Katie and Brendan however, were totally unaware of the storm as they had gone to Tom Moore's jungle to do post ceremony photos with Gavin Howarth. I stood undercover in a bit of a panic watching inches of rain come down and hoping it would stop soon. Well it did stop, the sun came out and it  turned into the most magical evening. Gavin and I were shooting the wedding together - I photographed Katie before the ceremony, the details of the reception site and the guests during cocktails. Gavin was with Brendan beforehand, stayed at the church for the ceremony, shot the formal portraits and then the latter part of the reception. It worked well to share the shooting as it enabled us both to have more time to capture our respective shots. I often shoot with other photographers, but this was only the second time in twenty years that I have had virtually no contact with the groom. So I do hope you both had a fabulous time at your wedding; it was absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to shoot...
