Holland Park in the Autumn

This trip to London was very short, but it was wonderful to meet up with Helena, Simon, Alexander and Marianne for a shoot in Holland Park. It is strange being a photographer - we have only spent one hour together every two years, but this was our fifth shoot and I have watched these two grow up. In that hour we laugh and they share what they have been up to, what they are doing in school and I feel close to them. So thank you for the honour of capturing these family memories for you.

On our first shoot in Holland Park I had them hug a tree. Simon was keen to recreate that photo. Marianne and Alexander were not quite as thrilled with the idea as they felt they were to old. I insisted and said that one is never too old to give the tree a hug and be grateful that they keep our air clean. So they happily obliged, both me, their father, and the lucky tree...
