The light was beautiful and soft - it was yet another glorious May afternoon and the Prudoe family were adorable... I love my job!

Busy Bee: Bermuda Photographer
I had planned to do new posts three days a week. But this this week has been a bit manic - having just come back to Bermuda, I have not found a cottage yet so will be a nomad for a bit. Also, I photographed the In Motion dance recital last weekend - which was absolutely amazing - they are all so talented! I shot about 3,000 images, so it is taking some time to get through. But I should have a post ready with some of my favourites next week... In the meantime, here are a few photos from the garden where I will be spending the summer. Thank you both so much for your endless kindness!!!

Custom Designed Albums
My custom designed books have been arriving over the past few weeks and I am so pleased with the results. Here is Sharmini and Nathan's wedding album and the Aspen book I made for my parents. I have just finished another beautiful wedding album, so will post photos of that book as soon as it arrives.
The pages are a wonderful smooth thick stock and are hinged so they lie flat.

Iris & Victor: Bermuda Wedding Photographers
"It was a sunny day, with the blue sky and crystal cyan sea, just like the day of the photo shoot. It started with a conversation overheard on a bus, then we met for the first time in a restaurant. As soon as our eyes met, we knew that we are destined for each other. To commemorate the lovely place where we met, we decided to take our pre-wedding photos in Bermuda".
Kisses... kisses...
And more kisses...
Iris and Victor are getting married in Hong Kong in July but wanted to have some shots done before then, to have memories of the place they met and to use for their invitation. It was like a trash the dress session, but as it was before the wedding we could obviously not trash the dress. We started at Astwood Park, moved on to Stonehole Bay and finished just before sunset at the Dinghy Club. They are so adorable and were just so eager to do whatever I suggested - never once verbalising protest. I do hope they had as much fun as I did... thank you both for an amazing afternoon!
Kisses... kisses...
And more kisses...
I was not sure Iris would be up for lying on the dock, but without hesitation she gracefully reclined. I love these images - there is something so serene about the softness of the afternoon light and the silvery hue of the weathered teak.

End of an Era
This is my last London post. I have been back in Bermuda for a few days and it is lovely to be home but already I miss wandering the labyrinth of little lanes flanked with history. My time in London was wonderful and an incredible opportunity to grow as an artist. Each day I found a new street I had not visited, with ever more interesting facades. These last images were taken near Portobello Road, I strayed while strolling back to the tube. This wisteria vine was amazing and in some places had broken and twisted the iron gate that supports it.

Portobello Road
A couple weekends ago I got up at the crack of dawn to avoid the hoards of tourists that visit Portobello Road every Saturday. It had rained so I was hoping that might help, but at 8:30am there were already hundreds of people wandering through the market admiring the melange of goodies. It is a fascinating place and the eclectic mix of antiques from furniture to flowers, drawer knobs to dolls, and every silver piece possible is truly amazing. Click here for a little info on the market...

Wandering through Westminster
With my time in London coming to an end, I have been going out on every sunny day to see and shoot as much as I can. A couple of weeks ago I spent the afternoon wandering through Westminster. Upon exiting the tube I was met by Big Ben - he really is pretty impressive...
There was a very shiny limo that provided the perfect reflection shot - me with two London icons - the phone box and on the other side of the river, the London Eye.
And me again - as I travel alone so often, shooting my reflection became a way of having pictures of me in the place I am visiting without asking a stranger to take a picture of me. Inevitably I was never pleased with their kind efforts. This way only I am to blame... also I just love the multiple layers of these images...
This elephant sculpture by Salvador Dali is about 15 feet tall and stands on the South Bank outside the entrance to the Dali Universe gallery that houses over 600 of the artists works.
I stayed for a while watching the artist patiently await patronage. Many a passer-by looked, but sadly very few droped anything into his basket...
Where the Parliament Buildings now stand has been a location for Britain's authority for over 1,000 years. Originally the palace of Edward the Confessor in 1065, it is still officially a royal palace and referred to as the 'Palace of Westminster'. It remained a royal residence until a fire in 1512 forced Henry VIII to leave. Westminster Hall was first built in 1097 and since then has been extensively developed and rebuilt due to fire, war and time...
Sea Gulls - where they should be - near water. I have a flock of about 20 that hover above my flat and squalk 24/7. I'm no where near the river... well today is my last day here. They have driven me crazy - but I'll probably miss them...
Me...again. Behind me is the incredible ornate gate that surrounds the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
2009 is the 150th anniversary of Big Ben. I had a look online for some interesting morsels to include on the clock tower's history - it is rather long - so if you are interested - click here. This is my favourite time of day, with the gentle evening light making everything warm and yummy.
I crossed through St Jame's Park, passed Buckingham Palace (not as many furry hat clad guards as I remember, thought there are now soldiers equipped with machine guns) then up through Green Park to arrive home just as it was dark. Another divine afternoon in London...
