Sunset at Sundown: Bermuda Photographers

When Kathryn and I were discussing their session, I suggested doing something a little different - that they get dressed up in black tie. Little did I know that their entrance hall was so divine and the perfect spot for their glam attire. Thank you for a fun shoot - your house and garden are just lovely and you were all such a joy to photograph...

The Birds, the Bees and a Canon: Bermuda Photographers

I meandered through the tranquil alleys, accompanied by bees buzzing from flower to flower and the birds singing their solos. And then... the blast of a canon! I had meant to spend Monday afternoon photographing The National Trust gardens in St George's, however inclement weather delayed my journey. So I ventured East on Wednesday instead, only to find the town in preparations for the Peppercorn Ceremony. The first ceremony was held in 1816 when Government moved from the town of St George to the city of Hamilton. The State House, where meetings of Her Majesty's Council and other official functions had been held, was granted to the Corporation of St George at the annual rent of one peppercorn. The ceremony is held on the most suitable day nearest to 23rd April which is St Georges Day - in honour of the patron saint whose name the town bears.

Lily Laughing: Bermuda Portraits

This weeks I Heart Faces photo challenge is smiles.
Lily is my best friend Margo's daughter and the most smiley, joyful little girl. Her giggles are infectious and every time I shoot her she makes me smile too.

The Wall Street Journal: Bermuda Photographers

I was honoured to have my photographs published in this weekend's edition of The Wall Street Journal. Their travel section features a story on the beautiful Tuckers Point Resort. I have photographed many weddings and family portraits on the gorgeous property, so it was a joy to have the opportunity to shoot the hotel for such a prestigious publication. I was so excited to see the story in print - I bought four copies yesterday! Have a peek at the story - and slide show here...

Bermuda Weddings: Cortney & Chris

As Courtney walked down the aisle, Chris wiped a tear from his cheek. The devotion these two clearly have for each other is just beautiful. Here is one of my favourite photos from their wedding on Saturday.
I have hundreds more to edit, so stay tuned for another post soon...

The Lovely Lexi

The roses this year are simply spectacular. It might have something to do with how awful the winter has been. With everything having been so bare for the last four months it now seems there are more blooms than ever. Every field, roadside and garden are bursting with colour. Even the weeds in my parking area have beautiful little yellow blossoms.
So this is Lexi - I photographed her family over the weekend and she was the perfect little model. At first she was a little worried about the thorns I was suggesting she put behind her ear. But I promised this perfect bloom was thorn free... Lexi you are just lovely...

For months my sister Sacha has been encouraging me to enter the weekly I heart faces photo contests. Well this week I finally did...

The Taylor Family: Bermuda Photographers

It was the most beautiful evening with the sun almost set and a soft salty haze over the beach. We had originally planned the shoot for December 28th, but with this awful winter, Janet and I had been rescheduling ever since - and finally the perfect afternoon. Charlie, Jade and Austin , you were a dream to shoot - so thank you all for a wonderful evening!

A Field of Flowers: Bermuda Photographers

I had past this field several times over the last week, and on Easter Sunday I suggested to Margo that we do a few photos in the flowers. And luckily we did do them that day as two days later it was ploughed and all the lovely little blossoms no more. As in the fresias a few weeks ago, both Lily and Amelie were wonderful balls of energy skipping and jumping though the tiny blooms. With them moving around so quickly, it was a bit tricky, but with beautiful light and happy little girls it was hard to go wrong. So thank you all for a wonderful shoot...
