"Tom and I got engaged in Kauai, Hawaii. He took me on a surprise private helicopter tour and had us land at Manawaiopuna Falls (aka the Jurassic Falls) where he again completely surprised me with a proposal and the most gorgeous 1930s vintage ring I’ve ever seen. As soon as he got up off his knee it began to sprinkle and then a beautiful rainbow appeared across the falls so briefly that had our helicopter pilot not told us to turn around and take a quick photo we would’ve missed it. Tom wrote a song for his vows and included the line “Our life is blessed by Hawaiian rainbows”, and why he had his vows engraved on Hawaiian Koa wood, which consequently is also what his guitar is made from as well.
We knew we wanted somewhere special and obscure for our elopement , but also somewhere we’d never been, and when we started looking for unique places and found the Unfinished Church in Bermuda we booked it right away and without a second thought. Friends and family couldn’t believe we wanted this experience completely alone , but from the beginning we knew we wanted the day to be intimate and just the two of us. And the way it all unfolded from yoga together in the morning to a couples massage in the afternoon to meeting him in the hallway of the Rosewood for our first look, it was all just perfect."
Thank you both for having me capture your beautiful and tender elopement; it was an honour.
