Lars and Shilpa's Bermuda Wedding

"With family and friends in Europe, NYC and Los Angeles, we wanted to find a mid point that would be accessible to everyone. We also were also keen on having an intimate wedding on the beach. Since Bermuda was so close to the east coast of the US, we decided to check it out. We were amazed by the island's beauty and the friendly people we met. It was too bad that Hurricane Joaquin came in the way of our plans of having our wedding on the beach, but it was still beautiful and the best day of our lives. "

"I found this dress at a small boutique in Los Angeles. I was so happy that my mom and dad were there when I found my dream dress. I had tried on 30 before finding this one! I knew it was the dress for me the moment I put it on."

"The plans we had originally made for the wedding dramatically changed the day before because of Hurricane Joaquin. We had originally planned on having the ceremony on the beach with the reception at the Fountain Pool at Rosewood Tucker's Point. We had to change the ceremony location to the courtyard, but then an hour before the ceremony it started to pour. At that point, I didn't care. I was so excited to marry Lars that the weather didn't make a difference to me. We were faced with the decision of keeping the ceremony outdoors or moving it inside. Since we had wanted the ceremony to be outside in the first place, the decision was made to stick with our original plan. I asked that we have umbrellas handy and we just crossed our fingers that the rain would stop. Sure enough, the rain stopped five minutes before the ceremony and held off until our ceremony was over. It was perfect. We then moved inside for the reception which was great thanks to the incredible staff at Rosewood. It was definitely the wedding I dreamed of despite the weather."
