I first photographed Marjorie, Mike and Alex in London in 2009. And since then we have met up for a shoot every time I happened to be on that side of the Atlantic. But this time, they came here - not to be photographed, but for a family get together. It was Marjorie's mother's 70th birthday and to celebrate Phyllis wanted to have her family together. She and Dick live in Arizona and Andrew, Marci and Ezra live in New York, so Bermuda seemed a perfect spot in the middle. They had a wonderful holiday dining, cycling, beaching and Alex was particularly fond of the caves. We met on a beautiful sunny evening at Grotto Bay. Thank you all for a fun shoot, it was a pleasure to meet you all, and Phyllis, Happy Birthday!

Leslie & Josh: Bermuda Wedding
Three years ago they were fixed up by a friend. Josh kept asking Leslie out, she kept saying yes and after every date they liked each other more. It was not long before they were in love. But for a while they had to endure being apart; Leslie was doing a Masters in Education at George Washington University and Josh was establishing himself as an attending physician at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. But they saw each other as often as possible and Josh had became a wonderful father to Charlotte. Now, finally, they are all together making a home in Philly.
But they wanted to wed in Bermuda. It was a beautiful afternoon at Cambridge Beaches, but it was very windy and as the forecast was iffy, they moved their reception indoors. It is the Jewish custom for wedding ceremonies to take place at sunset, as such, we decided to take all the photographs beforehand. The soft, evening light was just lovely and in the lee it was perfectly still.
Thank you all for a fabulous evening, it was an honour to capture the uniting of your beautiful family.
Leslie made her gown; it was gorgeous and unlike anything I have ever seen. The combination of lace and linen was just beautiful.
Jillian at Petals designed all the flowers for the event. Leslie's bouquet was a combination of orchids, peonies and eucalyptus. I have never seen that orchid before, it was huge and so, so beautiful. Not sure they do actually smell, but Charlotte wanted to check...
As the decision to move the reception inside happened quite late in the day, Emily from Bermuda Event Solutions, the team at Cambridge Beaches and Jillian from Petals really had their work cut out for them to make it all perfect in time. But perfect it was.
