In the Clovers...

I remember spending hours of my childhood in the clover patch in our garden. My sister preferred to play on her own, which meant I had to also. So I would tell myself tales of the fairies that lived among the clovers and munch on them - the clovers, not the fairies.
Nadia is probably too young to be telling herself stories, but she did seem to enjoy the clover patch nonetheless. And with Saturday, my chicken, coming and going, she was entertained. Thank you all for another lovely mini session...

Alexandra & Darren are Engaged!

I had the most wonderful afternoon yesterday... I had the honour of shooting an engagement session for my dear friend Alexandra and her fabulous fiancé Darren.
Alexandra is incredibly talented and creative, so I knew she would have a plethora of wonderful ideas for their shoot. And did she ever! Sadly, it was bitterly cold yesterday, so we decided to just do a few and to schedule another session in the spring.
Here is a wee teaser - I'll post more later in the week...

Thank you for an absolutely lovely day... I am so happy for you both... xoxo

Fiddleheads

The fiddlehead fern has become one of my favourite plants. I had only come upon it recently in looking at the work of several florists in California. They would appear from time to time in wedding bouquets and arrangements. I asked if they could be included in this weeks Petals order and my wish was granted. I spent about an hour yesterday moving them this way and that and crouching down like a pretzel to capture them from just the right angle...

Bouquet Love

It was terribly cold outside, but the sun was shining, so we decided to go ahead as planned. In preparing for the bridal fair last Sunday, Sarah at Petals had created two stunning bouquets and Alexandra Mosher had finished the designs for her latest bridal collections. Nikki, Alexandra and I bundled up and ventured outside into my garden. Jadiyah, our lovely model, however, was not bundled. She was barefoot wearing a delicate long dress and then a silk frock by Max Mara. But she smiled, and never uttered a single complaint. And Weldon was gracious enough to help me a second time; having kindly come a couple weeks ago. I do find that the boutonnieres photograph so much better on a jacket.
Thank you all for a lovely afternoon, it truly was a pleasure to collaborate. I am looking forward to many more shoots together...
